Sara E. Frisch, 101, of Sumner, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Sumner with Rev. Michael Christie and Bill O’Brien officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. Visitation will precede the service at the church on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made in Sara’s name to the United Methodist Church in Sumner or a children’s charity of the donor’s choice.
Sara Elizabeth, daughter of William and Sara (MacDonald) Kooser was born September 20, 1916, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Connellsville High School in 1934. On November 21, 1962, she was united in marriage with Clarence Frisch at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Chicago, Illinois. She worked as the office manager at West Town Electric Company in Cicero, Illinois for over thirty-five years. In July of 1978, Clarence and Sara moved to Sumner. Sara was a long time member of the United Methodist Church in Sumner and was active in the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Birthday Club, G Club, Dominoes Club, and the Red Hat Society. Sara enjoyed playing Dominoes, was a great story teller, and had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Frisch of Oelwein; many nieces and nephews; close friends, Bill and Carol O’Brien and their children, Andrew and Emily O’Brien; and step-grandchildren, Amy (Anthony) Ricchio and their children Ashley, Courtney, and Collin Ricchio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, who died on August 19, 1999; four sisters; and four brothers.
